Naming: There is a bills of about 130 acres of historic and pleasant Rajdhala in this upazila. It is reported that the local police station was formed on the eastern side of the bill, and the police station was named after it. Later, in 1983, Eastdhala thana was upgraded to Purbadhala upazila.
Geographical location: Purbadhala Upazila 90 ° 29' east longitude 90 to 44' east longitude and 24 ° 48' in the south latitude 25 ° 02's south latitudes. Durgapur upazila of Netrokona upazila on the north and Dhobaura upazila of Mymensingh district, Gouripur upazila of Mymensingh district on the south, Netrokona Sadar upazila on the east, Phulpur and Haluaghat upazilas of Mymensingh district on the west.
History of the upazila: Purbadhala thana was established in 1917 and it was turned into an upazila in 1983. From the Mughal period, culture in this upazila seems to be touched. During this time, two mosques built in Soni Kanda and Lalchapur village of this upazila bear recognition in the architectural style of the people of this area. Besides, Narsingh Jui Akhra of Hogla union and Rajpara temple situated in Ghagra union carry the identity of the people of the upmarket religious culture of the upazila. The madman Karam Shah and his son Tipu Shah settled in the village of Latekanda, in 1792, and from this village they used to lead the mad rebellion and peasant uprising.
